Setting Goals:

 

           Teaching is my life's dream. I truly think this is what I was put on this earth to do. Teaching kids is a blessing only a few people can understand. While I love being in the classroom is am starting to see that I can affect more change if I am the leader. I’ve had the privilege of observing a vast spectrum leadership styles. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the interesting. In the very near future, i  want to create that change as a principal. Career wise I  know it’s a goal many people discourage, but I was never in teaching for anything other than helping students become better people and scholars. My short term goal is to start a male mentoring organization. Teaching chivalry, job skills, and life lessons to young black men is very important to me.

             Another short term goal is to completely flip my classroom for next year. I think my kids are ready to have that responsibility. I was timid about giving them that, but I think they deserve my trust. I also would like to incorporate genius hour. We had so much fun using technology I want to see the awesome ideas my kids can come up with with the constraints of common core.
